HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A wildfire near Koolina that sent thick smoke billowing over Leeward Oahu is now 90% contained.
Dark, heavy smoke from the fire could be seen for miles around the island.
State, county and federal crews have been battling flames in an undeveloped area off Kapolei Parkway since 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Crews remained on scene well into the night to put out any hot spots.
No roads are closed and no evacuations have been ordered.
